Dragonfly Trail

The trail to the dragonfly
   lies narrow and
   Teflon-smooth,

Frightening when black-iced
   by freezing fog
   or sleeting snow,

But, twice driven,
   a carnival ride
   of breath-holding

To the four-winged creature
   of crystalline eyes
   sheltering lovers

Who’ve had bravery
   thrust upon them
   in the cold.
