Lunar Eclipse

"I'm sorry about the Moon...", he said.
"Oh! What an interesting sentence!",
        she replied,
smiling with unexpected delight.
Love illuminated them
in the recovered lunar glow.

  1. Indeed! If you have the hutzpah to be sorry about the moon, then you should be able to do something about it!

    • I love your comment and you’re absolutely right, from one point of view, as if I’d felt responsible for the moon. Like so many things, though, there are other interpretations. In this case, clouds had obscured the eclipse. “Sorry” then meant “How unfortunate”. She immediately realized the ambiguity, hence her delightful reply.
